Inspire One Billion People hosts community-centered events designed to inform, support, and empower individuals and families.

Our events bring people together around education, mental wellness, and access to opportunity. Through workshops, discussions, creative expression, and community dialogue, we create spaces where people can learn, ask questions, and connect with trusted resources.

We focus on practical, real-world topics including mental health awareness, family advocacy, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Each event is rooted in listening to the community, honoring lived experience, and providing information that people can use long after the event ends.

Whether in person or virtual, our events are intentionally designed to be accessible, welcoming, and relevant. They are not lectures. They are conversations that build confidence, reduce stigma, and strengthen community connections.

As we continue to grow, our goal is to expand these events into more communities and create consistent opportunities for learning, healing, and empowerment.

World Mental Health Day 2024: “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right”

On October 10, 2024, Inspire One Billion People hosted a community event in recognition of World Mental Health Day, grounded in the theme “Mental Health Is a Universal Human Right.” The evening brought together mental health professionals, artists, and community members for education, reflection, and honest dialogue.

This video features remarks from Dr. Patricia R. Cruz, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and mental health advocate, who spoke on the importance of access, dignity, and culturally responsive care. Her message reflects the shared mission of Inspire One Billion People and her private practice, The River Wellness, LLC and PLLC, to reduce stigma and expand pathways to healing.

The event also included spoken word performances by acclaimed poets whose work centers on lived experience, resilience, and emotional truth:

  • Shane Manier, a mental health poet and advocate whose work addresses trauma, recovery, and the realities of living with mental illness
  • LeJuane (El’Ja) Bowens, a poet and educator whose writing explores identity, emotional health, and personal transformation
  • Lady V Poetry, a poet and wellness-centered storyteller whose work emphasizes healing, self-worth, and empowerment

Together, these voices helped create a space where mental health was discussed openly, creatively, and without shame.

This event reflects Inspire One Billion People’s ongoing commitment to bringing mental health education and conversation directly into the community. We look forward to continuing this work and hosting World Mental Health Day programming again in October 2026.

Charitable Fundraiser & Community Day Party

In September 2024, Inspire One Billion People hosted a Charitable Fundraiser & Community Day Party in Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing together supporters, partners, and community members for an afternoon centered on connection, culture, and impact.

The event was designed to raise funds in support of our education, mental wellness, and community empowerment initiatives while creating a welcoming space for people to gather, network, and learn more about our mission. Guests enjoyed live music, meaningful conversation, and opportunities to engage directly with the work Inspire One Billion People is doing across the community.

The fundraiser featured live performances, a relaxed social atmosphere, and intentional moments to highlight why community-based support matters. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with one another, meet members of our team, and learn how their support helps fund programming that expands access to information, mental health awareness, and advocacy resources.

Proceeds from the event supported Inspire One Billion People’s ongoing efforts to deliver community education events, mental wellness programming, and partnerships that strengthen access to opportunity for underrepresented families.

This fundraiser reflected what we believe at our core: meaningful change happens when people come together with purpose. We are grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped make the event a success.

As we continue to grow, charitable fundraisers like this one remain an important part of sustaining our work and building long-term community impact.

ABOUT INSPIRE ONE BILLION PEOPLE

Inspire One Billion People (IBOP) was founded with the mission to serve communities by creating opportunities to increase capacity among the disenfranchised for self-improvement, personal development, and internal growth. With the intention of realizing our mission, we must begin by helping the children within these underserved communities.

However, to truly help the children, we must begin with single parent households, supporting single mothers, and providing opportunities to reunite broken households with missing fathers. We have witnessed the destruction of families, now we are engaged in creating opportunities for growth.

We want to help others find their passion and purpose as early as humanly possible, leading to a happy, healthy, and successful life. IOBP endeavors to “meet people where they are” and “strengthen the family in environment.”
